As I Am

On No Longer forcing

I wasn't always this way

I used to force myself to be ok

To get things done

To push through

That is all I knew to do

The suck it up vibe

The no pain, no gain lane

Hardwired deep inside

Even cognizant of it

I could not hide

This is what we do

Get things done

Equates to value of you

I believed

Harshness in its name

That was the way I played the game

Until I felt a different way

To show up and honor each and every day

By staying longer in the heavy uncertain times

Letting curiosity call the shots

No longer forcing

Learning to trust

Allowing life to take longer

And to sit with that would surface in between

The in between that is my truth

And the proof no longer needs witnesses

I get to show up as I choose

No need to force

Nothing to lose

Because I have come to know and understand

I am already worthy as I am

I didn't arrive here all at once
