How Remembering Can Actually Help You Focus on What You Have Accomplished.

Do you ever feel like you aren’t getting anything done?

Do you ever feel like the list of things to do is endless?

Or possible that you wish you were further along in life than you currently find yourself?

I have these thoughts rather often.

And it is something I have been working on.

One thing that helps me is that I always come back to remembering.

I think there is so much power in remembering.

Maybe for you this might seem like just another item on your list, something more to do.

I hope not, as this is one practice that will help you snap out of that need to finish or do everything in a day.... because you gotta remember that we can never... do... it... all.

Tomorrow always brings more to do.

So, if we can first get focused, get clear, and prioritize the 2 or 3 key things we need to get done on any given day, we will feel a little more efficient when we focus and accomplish those things.

That process can be a whole other story.

But for now, it’s so important to come back to remembering…

remembering what you have done already at the end of the day.

Instead, Focus on:

Take some time: at least a minute before the head hits the pillow to recall the things that you did get done and the achievements you did accomplish.

Celebrate that, be grateful for that, embrace what you conquered, and resist surrendering to the tasks unachieved and frustrations of what is left to do.

You know the feeling right?!

There is so much goodness in focusing on the achievements rather than the laundry list of what is still to do.

Remembering things accomplished can also be a very powerful tool to use when we are feeling inadequate or if we feel we should be further along in life.

If you feel that you need to be or “should” have accomplished more at this point in your life, ok, maybe that is… something you feel... and it isn't to be ignored.

That thought process can not be changed. And is something you might want to consider if you want to feel more progress in your life.

The best use of that perspective is letting it propel you to where you want to be.

Take a step forward get clear on taking action towards what you do want for your life.

Always remembering what you have already done.

Remember that you Simply > are where you are and the awareness that you have about wanting more...

THAT awareness and desire is brilliant and you don’t need to be “there yet,”

wherever there is for you.

But you CAN start today taking action towards that person you do want to be.

And remember along the way that you are giving it everything that you can (right??).

Either way, just remember the things that you did finish today and each day after that.

There are many practices you can do, but at the end of the day, after you get done reminding yourself of what you did get checked off that list.

Then, if you feel like it wasn’t “enough”, then it is up to you to figure out what the inefficiencies were.

What were the things that got in the way?
What were the disruptors or the distractions?
And how can you better avoid them?

Preemptively prepare for the possible roadblocks that could come up and that will help with expectations and having fewer surprises and more control in your life.

This is a good start in quality reflection and self-awareness.

This will help in the process of feeling like you are in a good place because you are.

Embrace that, give yourself some grace keep moving forward, and remember you have already accomplished so much and you can do so much more.
